Boredom

I am considering the idea of boredom. They always say it's great for the kids to be bored. Does the same stand for adults? does it help us to be more imaginitive?

Surely if I'm bored all the time I will just end up boring??????

Blind dates

I'm meeting a new man on Saturday - one I've never met before. He's coming with a guy I've met twice before. So he's almost new too.

It's gonna be fun, cos the one I like, but not enough to date a lot just yet, and the other I have no clue about.

The other single friend I am bringing has actually met a guy now, so she's not so single, but she's coming along too..... is that called hedging your bets?

I can't wait, it's gonna be fun!

Birthdays and other bashes

I recently celebrated my birthday. I have to admit, it was the first birthday I have celebrated that actually wasn't fabulous, and I didn't really look forward to.

I'm not sure what it is, the getting older & the realisation that I'll finally be hitting another "O" soon, or the fact that the office situation is not the best and I may not have a job soon ( bound to be a downer), or the fact that life is so about children and their well-being that you totally forget about yourself / sacrifice yourself in the meantime and don't realise you are doing it!

My birthday was not my own, it involved work, and Karate lessons, and other people's problems, and taking kids to another birthday party, and all that stuff.

I dutifully did it untill I wanted to go home and hibernate - and be depressed!!!! When I got home friends were there setting up a surprise party for me - 3 of them , but it was the best three I could have asked for.

Amazing, just when you feel like peopel don't love you, some of them show you they do, in a away you never expected.

that's the best part about life and good friends, showing their kindness in ways I never knew.

So I got up the next day and had renewed energy to face the office and the morose attitudes there.

After all - I have FRIENDS!
