Can we just push the skip button and go straight on to the place where everything is all worked out please?

Please?

cold weather and wet days

Ok, I admit it. I LOVE cold weather and wet days here in London. Right now, the sun is shining but it's cold outside and the wind is blowing. It doesn't really blow here at all, but it blew all night, and is still a little blustery today.

I hated this weather in CT. The only good reason for it was that I could have the fire going in the lounge, but here I love it.

The house is so warm we can wear jeans and long shirts - or just pyjamas.
The windows don't let in the cold or the wind, and the leaves look stunning as they blow around and twirls, as if the pixies are dancing in the woods and swirling the leaves around then in bright colours or red, orange, burnt orange, brown , yellow and green.

The old oak trees creak as the boughs bend and twist, and the sun still shines.

We've had our rain, and a fair share. I got so wet riding home on the bike from Richmond yesterday, a drowned Rat would have looked better. But I felt alive, and happy, and healthy, and VERY sore this morning- but a good sore.

So, I'm grateful for everything today, and especially for all the great things I have. I know things will work out, and be the way they should. I have great kids, friends, and the love of a wonderful man!! I hope all of you have the same!!

The ego...

There has been much discussion of late about one's ego. I've read 'A New Earth' by Ekhart Tolle and he speaks of the ego as well.

All about how we are all so egotistic, and we all think we are so good and clever, and that if we could release ourselves of these thoughts, and remember that everyone else tries to talk / act brave and clever it's cos they are insecure.
It's their ego that makes them talk themselves up to far greater than they are, (boy do we know some types like that hey?) and if you can remember that these people are so very insecure, and also not proud of themselves or their achievements. Then you can be more kindly to them when you talk to them.
You can also not get irritated by their amazing claims - "I was the best salesman EVER - 4 years in a row!" or "I met so-and-so and they offered me a job" - etc.

We've all been known to do it - I know I have, makes me feel and seem more important than I really am, and I always used to say I had to pat myself on the back cos no-one else ever did, but I've learnt to curb the urge.

I understand people more now, and I can look at them from a different perspective, which could only be a good thing. More people should read more good books, and watch less TV, and learn a thing or two!

Namaste.
