Weekend - woo hoo!

Well, thank goodness the weekend is here! It's been a long week, not to mention fraught with emotional issues. I have been thinking a lot about relationships, and people.

It's amazing how nature pushes and pulls people either together of apart. I find some people's tolerance levels interesting too. I know someone that has stayed in a marriage for far too long (years) in order to keep a status quo and to be a nice person. Basically cos that's what people do, in his mind, you commit. Whilst I do agree with the idea, commitment requires both sides of the road to stick to the rules. Both have to committ, and work at it.

I,on the other hand am far more 'mad' and impetuous. I makeup my mind in a flash and just 'do' it. Not always a good idea, and has, on occaision got me into lots of trouble. I guess that's why opposites are important. The one calm, and the other mad, so in the middle it's reasonably 'normal'.

Well, we'll see if the theory works. I've found calm, and hopefully it'lll be the solution....

Party boy

Well, it's a party for a little man that's getting a lot bigger and older, and we had a great time.

We and 17 kids went to the park and played party games.

In love with love

I'm in love with the idea of being in love. I've met up with an old love, and the idea of being with him again is giving me butterflies.

I'm not sure if it's the romantic idea of being with someone I was mad about, or the idea of what could have been and may now well have the chance to be,(again), or if it's just the fact that someone wants to be with me - and has finally expressed that, and that makes me happy and giddy, and little butterflies are fleeing around my tummy.

It's a cool feeling, for as long as it lasts.

Bring it on!!!

It's my party

I had a great party yesterday. I invited the cousins, some friends, and their kids, and we had a real blast. Even managed toplay French Tennis in the garden for a good hour before the light rains came down.

We braaied, ate potatoe bake, toffee cake (brought by my lovely friend Seye, and salad, houmous, cheese platter and biscuits with grapes, and ended off with coffee and chocolates, YUM!

We drank some lovely wines, and had great conversation. It was fantastic.

The (old) New Forest

Well, we went to the New Forest yesterday for a bit of a look around. The weather was chilly, but the drive was superb, with some of the hills s till covered with white pristine snow. Really white and beautiful.

So, the kids saw the New Forest ponies - not a huge amount of interest, and once we started walking along the forest walks and the rain began, Connor said he'd far rather be watching TV at home . Oh dear, I've bred square-eyed goggle box watchers....

But I drag them away anyway, and the TV watching is my fault when I am feeling lazy.....

being a Mom is tough

I never knew how tough. If everyone was told how tough, and at 18, every kid had to live with and look after 2 kids for a month, we'd never have kids.
Every month it seems that some problem needs to be surmounted, and some issue to be dealt with.

It's harder as a single Mom, and you have no-one to say "mom is right". What do you do?
Well, I stick to my guns, I answer the questions in the most frank and fair way, and I ALWAYS tell the truth.

Hopefully, all else will fall into place after that. If not, I deal with those problems then. I have enough of them now to deal with thank you!

PLaying in the last of the snow..

The shrill shrieks from outside heralds the kids playing in what is the last of the snow.

I'm not sure if the shrieks are those of laughter or pain, or anger, or a mixture of all three, but seeing as it's a healthy pursuit, and also means they aren't watching TV, I'm not going to interfere.
I'm just thrilled they are getting rid of excess energy and having what I hope is a great time, and thus a great childhood.

These are the memories we all look back on with fondness when we are bigger, and grumpier, and tired - er. But it;s been a fabulous 2 days of snow and fun - and we didn't even have to travel anywhere to get it!

Melting snow

Well, another day working from home, the snow is melting, but the school is still closed. So the kids are home so I have to be home too.

I took lots of pics of the snow, and the kids and we made a 'snow fort' and pelted the boys Oscar and Connor with snow balls. Boys against girls. We also made snowmen in the back garden, and in between all that I managed to do all my work, and contact the guys I needed to. Who says I can't be efficient from home?

Tomorrow will be fun, no doubt will be moaned at for not making a bigger effort to go in. But there were no busses this morning
and I was not going to walk the 2 miles to the train station from home! Then wait over an hour for a train, and the same way home. Not bloody likely.

I love London. It totally shuts down when it's snowing, which is FAB.
Working from home, calling affiliates, and making snow men and snowladies during lunch!
