Yes, it's getting chillier these days. Time to turn on the heating!
Oh well, so be it, winter is on it's way.....
My winter woolies need to be taken down from the loft, and the Summer clothes put away.
A one-sided view of life and the things that go on in it, from a career person, family person, sane and mad person, trying to fit it all into one day !

I've been busy -ok?
So, I had a stunning weekend, really great. A 'long' weekend with my man (which means I see him for 2 days instead of one, and we went to Ham House for free with Nadine, and we had cheese, wine and lovely biscuits ( now a weekend thing) and then on Sunday we had a chill day. It was good.
This week I saw him an extra day cos I went down to get some teeth sorted out - painless, and got serenaded by the dentist and the nurse (thanks!) and I managed to walk out with most of my dignity!!
Interesting meeting the people I've heard so much about - lovely characters, and very like their description!
REALLY struggled to drive home and leave him. REALLY struggled, but got home to a very sniffly and sad little girl that obviously needed Mum, LOTS of cuddles, a warm bath, bed and soup. She'd had a bad day and was really feeling rough so lOTS of TLC was called for, and I gave it.
Seems much better today, despite the sniffles s till being there.
Oh well, life carries on....

Open letters....
I was reading some of the other blogs I follow reasonably regularly (like today when the sun is shining, I am cosy in bed watching the green leaves and wonderful sunshine you the window), and I cm upon the notion of an 'open letter' which I LOVE.
What is an Open letter (I nearly wrote window... hee hee) - you ask?
Well, it's a letter you want to write to any one, about something you'd like to say to them. You might get the chance one day, you might not, but this time, you'll have at least 'said ' it some where.
So, here are a few of mine:

Dear Friends in South Africa
I know we hardly ever talk, and I know life is busy with 'other things', but I want you to know I think about you, and I miss you. I'd like to hear what's really going on in your life now and then - if only once every two months, that would be good.
Thanks for being in my life in SA - you made it a much better and richer experience!

Dear Ex
I wish you'd see more of the kids, I wish they had the opportunity to spend more time with you, and I wish you'd try harder. You don't work, you have free travel, and they have just had 6 weeks of holiday. I call every week to arrange a day on the weekend and you're always busy. That amazes me. I hope it makes you happy , it sure makes me sad!

Dear Headmaster
Thanks for doing a great job. The school is great, the teachers are engaging, and my kids are happy. The stuff you put on is brilliant, and the extra tutoring you do for kids after school really helps. Well done,oh, and I'll try help out more this year!

Working from home
How is it possible to be able to do so much more work from home? OK, the drilling outside the office really does not help at all. Feels like my head is being hit against the wall fast and hard all day.
So now at home I've written 6 pages of instructions in a blow-by-blow way, and it's great!
Amazing - why the hell don't companies save money by making staff work from home? Save on travelling costs, office rent, water, electricity, coffee etc.
They could really save cost in this recession, and companies could last longer.
Hey, what do I know, I'm just a 'wekker'.

Great poem
"We squander health
In search of wealth;
We scheme and toil, and save,
Then squander wealth
In search of health;
And all we get’s the grave;
We live and boast of what we own;
We die and only get a stone."

Then squander wealth
In search of health;
And all we get’s the grave;
We live and boast of what we own;
We die and only get a stone."

Wonderful weekends
Just when you think it can't get any better - it does.
Just when you think the panic will overwhelm you - it evaporates.
Just when you think you can't keep up the pace - it slows down.
The Universe hears everything and responds accordingly.
I had a wonderful weekend, beginning with a Friday night in my lover's 'cocoon' and then spending time with him on Sat, and Sunday at our place.
The kids had sleepovers and friends to play which gave us some space to breathe, but the noise levels were increased. Still, they were occupied and the TV was off all day which, for us, is a great result.
We talked, REALLY talked, and discussed, and planned, and almost organised some things in our minds.
It was very good, I feel at peace, and calm, and VERY much in love....

Great weather for a braai
So it'll be a braai then hey? Well, that's if we can both be dragged away from the computers we are so fastly attached to.
I'd go sit in the garden, but the glare on the screen is bad, so I don't sit in the sun. I guess that's good for my skin. We'll look youthful for longer, but have no eyesight due to the fact that we've squinted on screens for so long.
It's all about compromise - the woman's always right!!

Urge to purchase is over whelming......

You know when you just get that URGE to spend money and you have no idea why?
Well, I have that urge, today. Luckily, I am stuck at work, in an area that would require me to walk a while to get to a place that I could spend. Mind you that place happens to be the Mecca of spending places – Oxford Street!! Where there is every major brand name under the sun, and then some!
Well, I am sitting here, accepting website applications to push my product, and a lot of them are retail sites, and I get to see all the nice toys etc….it’s not very easy to say ‘no’ and just carry on.
Anyhow, we trudge on as we can and resist the (almost) overwhelming urge to buy, buy, buy.

Did you miss me?
I was away from blogging for at least 3 days , and here I am back in your inbox (for some) ad your screen for others.
Well, as I just love to tell you my opinions, and seeing as many f you can’t tell me yours back (unless you post a comment in the bottom of this post) I can take this opportunity to tell you what I’ve been thinking for the last 3 days.
OK, scratch that, I’ll tell you some of what I’ve been thinking, cos some of it might just be too much for you. I was thinking stuff like….
I love riding in the tube, reading my book and forgetting the world exists for just those 20 minutes….

I love walking by the river every night, although I may ‘woes’ out when winter hits and it’s 5 degrees outside, and dark. I’m not sure I’m brave enough to walk a river path at night. I love walking through London at night with the lights blinking, the happy pub people laughing, and my friend with me laughing at the silliness we say as we stroll.
I love the freedom of ‘going for a walk from my house anytime I like, day or night. I like coming home at night and seeing the foxes out, staring at me, and running into the bush as soon as I get too close. Crouching low down on their haunches, ready to spring at any sign of trouble.
Oh, and a 3 day weekend didn't hurt .......
