Hating your family

I was just reading Tagworld, and found a post where a guy was asking if anyone hated their Dad as much as he hated his. It was remarkable to see how many people actually do hate members of their family, not just their dad's!

Now I know society thinks that we should relish our family and love and respect them, but what if you don't?

What if you family is so dysfunctional that the only hope you have of having a normal life is to totally disassociate from them, and get away from all the turmoil they create just by being in your life?

What if your dad hits you, or verbally abuses you, or your mother is a drunk, or your Dad has so many affairs he's barely at home? Then is ist still a mandate that you love your family?

I don't think so.

I don't think it's healthy, and no matter what the world says I think that you should stay well away from crappy people like that. WELL away! Just get out, and teach you kids differently, teach them that they should be with loving, caring friendly people who support you no matter what. who offer you solace in bad times, rejoice with you in good times, and never judge you, but always offer you good, sage advice.

Those are the right type of people. Those are the types of society we should be rewarding every day.

Oh, and hate my Dad? Hate is a strong word, but I don't always like him a whole lot.
