Social networks

I'm running around looking and entering into the world of social networks.

It's an interesting concept, for the same reason as the social networks people build off line are also interesting.

The same rules of engagement and the same social rules exist in both models, as a whole. In the good ones you get intelligent, vocal people who offer value information and conversations and information. They answer forums, blog information as well, and they are activly engaged.

Then you get the 'inapropriate' type information - people that hand out information about other people, and people giving more information than is strictly good.

One should ( I think) use them more for introductions, and then find a 'private channel' elsewhere for you to talk further of offer further information. That seems better for safety, and for personal information exchange purposes.

Which is why chat is so scary - even through the private chats, you are still offering information in a (essentially) 'open' forum, without a relationship having been created independently of that platform.

Anyway, there is a LOT more work to be done here for me, and I'm looking forward to finding new and interesting information on a daily basis. I'll keep you posted.
