It's that time of year again, for office parties. This year, we are allowed to bring partners for a change! Always a dilemma for those of us that do not have them, nor do some of us want them, but it seems that society has decided that you are not worthy if you can't get a date.
So, what to do then? Well, the idea of The Wedding Date appeals tremendously, but only in Hollywood do you get the Dermot Mulroney look-alike, who falls in love with you ( and is gorgeous).
So, I got to wondering what options there are for a girl, to take to the office party;
There's the:
"just a friend" type you take with that you really are in love with, but he thinks nothing more of you than a mate.
the "Just a friend' who really is just a friend, and is thrilled at the opportunity to try to get a few phone numbers / new dates out of the evening.
The "puppy" who dotes on you, and you can drag around whilst he hangs on every word you say, and at the end of a long vening tries to squeeze in a 'feel' or a kiss.
The " mis behavor" who gets really drunk and embarrasses you to the ends of the earth, but you were never warned before of this behaviour before, so you end up mortified ( and talked about for weeks afterwards).
The 'sexy hunk' who you take so everyone can ogle and be envious of you, but he's so into himself he barely notices who he's sitting next to, and when he dances he dances with himself.
The 'true and steady' who comes, says the right things, has little personality, but won't embarrass you, and will never be remembered by anyone.
Or there's no-one. I think that potentially is the best option, seeing as I am unlikely to embarras myself, and I don't mind people feeling sad for me - it's better that feeling sad for myself!!!
