That's it!! Finally someone has come up with a description of what I'm living. The Sandwich Years!

Want an explanation? "People who have found themselves being squeezed by the need to support grown-up children and elderly parents."

OK, so the article below chats about people in their 50's and 60's suffering this, but I am in my 40's and suffering it - does that mean I have another 30 or so years of it??

God help me ...

I am looking after our kids, and I am looking after my mother! It's not just your kids, but it's your sense of duty. When she can't pay fro her medication, or is eating bread and butter every 3rd day of the week - what do you do ? You help out. You stretch yourself both ways, and feel guilty every day.

It's a bloody sandwich, and the middle filling ain't caviar people!

Pity they didn't teach you this stuff in school, it would have been really helpful, to have some real life information, and not the rubbish about hump-back mountains and lees....
